It is a narrow passage. As one walks, one has to avoid the hanging wires and watch out for water pouring down from the tops of the buildings.

Fouad* opens the door himself. He offers a seat and exchanges cheerful greetings, all while quickly moving around the room.

A breathing space in a long, hard day

‘’Togetherness means different minds and cultured spirits.’’

On an oval-shaped cardboard inside one of the classrooms, these words are inscribed. The handwriting is that of a child, probably a group of children. The message, for them, is clear: ‘’We are together. Friends.’’

Food fair showcases special delights

The effort of 150 ladies who worked over three months to produce a range of food items was put on display at the Homemade Food Products Exhibition, organised by Save the Children in Bekaa.

The two-day event, held at Massabki Hotel in Chtoura, demonstrated an assortment of food products prepared by Lebanese and Syrian women as part of Save the Children’s Food Security and Livelihoods programme.
