الأطفال في خطر وفي حالة ذعر فيما تتصاعد وتيرة النزاع في لبنان 

بيروت، 23 أيلول/ سبتمبر 2024 – على الأقل 50 طفلاً بين الضحايا الذي بلغ عددهم 558 شهيداً وأكثر من 1,800 جريحاً في غارات اسرائيلية على جنوب وشرق لبنان يوم الإثنين، فيما أقفلت كافة المدارس والأطفال في حالة ذعر، بحسب جمعية إنقاذ الأطفال.  

إن التصعيد الإقليمي يهدّد حياة أكثر من 345,000 طفل بالقرب من الحدود فيما تحاول العائلات جاهدة ايجاد مكان آمن لأطفالها.  

جنيفر  مورهيد، المديرة العامة لجمعية إنقاذ الأطفال في لبنان، تقول:

“I feel like I’ve condemned my beautiful children to a life of pain, with no future to look forward to nor a past they can remember.”

To many, 11 years of war in Syria equals 11 years of a rootless life and no place to call home.

Over the past year, Lebanon have experienced a near total economic collapse, the impact of the Beirut port blast in August 2020, and the severe consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Children have been gravely impacted by these multiple crises that have eroded their survival, learning and protection.
